Creative Commons (CC).

Creative Commons is a system of copyright licences that allows creators to share and publish their work while specifying how other people can use, copy, adapt or distribute it.

The main Creative Commons licences are:

• CC BY – Attribution required.

• CC BY-SA – Attribution and sharing adaptations under the same licence.

• CC BY-ND – Attribution, but no adaptations.

• CC BY-NC – Attribution, non-commercial use only.

• CC BY-NC-SA – Non-commercial use and same licence for adaptations.

• CC BY-NC-ND – Non-commercial use, no adaptations.

In publishing, Creative Commons provides an alternative to traditional all-rights-reserved copyright.
