It has become one of DMB Publishing objectives to locate locally published or printed material that has gone out of print and re-publish it on various platforms. Permission to re-publish will always be obtained from the original author. These self-published books were often written and printed locally by independent writers who just wanted to leave a legacy in respect of their chosen subject. Their creation was never commercially viable and nor is their re-publication in a digitised format by DMB Publishing. So to separate this type of publishing from my normal self-publishing activities I have developed the new Imprint below:-

Saving books for the future
These are
printed materials that over time would have just gone to landfill since often those
that inherit them may not identify with the subject matter so they are
consigned to the skip or rubbish tip. But they are subjects of interest to me, David
Bannister, and their preservation seems to me important. By creating these both
as a Kindle eBook and a Paperback on Amazon Books this does extend their current
availability whilst guaranteeing them an extended digital future. All credit to
Amazon who provide a very successful self-publishing capability linked to their
associated distribution channel for both digital books and printed paperbacks.
The long
term plan is to better secure these for all future generations. The plan has
two pathways. Firstly to donate their ownership back to the relevant local
Public Records Offices (PRO) or Museums so they can be maintained for their use
by future generations. Secondly to allow them to be donated to the
international book digitisation projects like Google Books for their archiving
and electronic distribution.
It is
important that the books created by local self-publishing authors are not lost
but they are digitally created and provided to suitable publishing platforms
for their future archiving and distribution. One of these authors is the
Warwick, England based historical author Steven Wallsgrove.
